Dale VanderwerffDale Vanderwerff is the President of Vanderwerff Construction Company. He is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, advising on construction techniques, and scheduling the things that need to be done.

In 1974, after graduating from ISU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Dale joined Ted Vanderwerff Jr., his father, in the family business. He has performed almost every job in the company over these 30 plus years, including the jobs of laborer, carpenter, estimator, payroll clerk, and project manager, to name just a few.

His most memorable experience with Vanderwerff Construction Company began when the company was hired to restore the Harris Bank Building in Libertyville, Illinois, which his grandfather had built in the late 1920’s. Over the years it had been remodeled and “modernized” several times. Dale’s father and he restored the building to its original look, and it was placed on the National Historic Registry.

Most people don’t know that the Vanderwerff Construction Company was started in 1918 by Dale’s grandfather who lived in Libertyville, Illinois. Dale is the third generation to run the company.

Dale Villiard, his nephew, started with the company several years ago and represents the forth generation.

Dale Villiard is the Vice President of Operations. He also is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, advising on construction techniques, and scheduling the things that need to be done.

His major projects have included industrial buildings, church additions, and a car dealership remodeling. His most memorable experience with Vanderwerff was the December, 2003 cross installation on a 60 foot masonry tower at Messiah Lutheran Church in Wauconda.

Most people don’t know that Dale has a degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Illinois.
